ARTICLE XXXI.

Strike Authorization 

Section 1.

No officer or member of this Union and no officer or member of any subordinate body in connection with or arising out of his/her work for or in behalf of this Union, shall use any force or violence against the person of anyone whomsoever, or threaten, coerce or intimidate any person whomsoever at any time.  No officer or member of this Union or any subordinate body shall call a strike, cease work, or initiate slow down or call or attempt to call other members of this Union to do so, without first securing the approval of the Executive Board, which Board must proceed according to the procedure as set out by the International Constitution for the authorization of strikes and all similar actions by Locals in Section 1(a), (b), (c) and (d) of Article XII of the International Constitution.

 

 

Section 2.

 

Security Fund

The sum of $1.50 of the monthly dues of each member may be set aside in a Security Fund.  The funds of the Security Fund shall be used only for expenses incurred in strikes, including strike benefits for organizing purposes and for any other purpose that the Executive Board and Security Fund Committee may decide is for the security of the Local Union.  The Executive Board shall determine the amount of said dues to be set aside, the nature and extent of strike benefits and shall be authorized to expend funds from the Security Fund as it, in its absolute discretion, shall determine is within the purposes aforesaid.
